Ahh, spring. An abnormally wet winter with plentiful rain in southern California, enough to move us out of the drought, left me even more psyched for the sun to return and the temperature to rise. The storms hitting the American southwest allowed for a crazy desert wildflower superbloom this spring, one of the most colorful blooms in decades. I craved to see these flowers popping up everywhere, something I've never quite witnessed. So I dropped some pins on Google Maps in southeast Arizona, called my friend Beau to see if he would accompany me, and left the next day.
